Prof. Dominique C. ADOLPHE obtained his PhD in Engineering Science (1990) and HDR in Mechanics (1997) from the University of Haute-Alsace, France. Professor at ENSISA since 1999, he has held several leadership roles, including Head of the Garment Industry Department (1997–2021) and Director of the Science Doctoral Program (2016–2021). From 2021 to 2025, he served as Vice-President for Research at the French University in Egypt. He was awarded the title of Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérite in 2021. His research focuses on nonwovens, comfort and tactile evaluation, functional textiles, and electrospinning for medical uses. He has supervised 36 PhDs and authored over 85 journal papers. Prof. Adolphe also served as President of The Fiber Society (2010) and of AUTEX (2013–2016), and as Vice-President of the European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing.
