Expert Engineer Mohamed Mehdi ben Slimene, is the Plant Manager at Sofidel UK, bringing over 20 years of experience in leading large-scale manufacturing operations and driving substantial improvements in efficiency and profitability. He holds an engineering degree in bio-industry from INSAT Tunis, a Master’s in Process Engineering from ETS Montreal, and an MBA from Cumbria University. He is also a Certified Energy Manager (AEE), NEBOSH qualified, and a Certified PUWER Assessor. His professional journey began in 2006 at Tunisie Ouate (Tunisia), where he started as a Process Engineer and advanced to Operations Director, spearheading business growth and energy efficiency programs that positioned Tunisie Ouate as the largest paper mill in Africa, supplying products to Europe and MENA countries. Building on this success, he joined Sofidel, one of the world’s leading paper industry groups, where he has been leading the UK paper mill since 2019.
